With an extensive and award-winning breakfast menu, the Avondale Guest House offers bright rooms just a 10-minute walk from the centre of York.
Guests have use of free Wi-Fi throughout. Should guests want to visit the famous Stonegate and York Minster, these are a pretty 20-minute walk across the river and along the cobbled streets of the main shopping area. Rooms at the Avondale are individually decorated and all are en suite. Guests arrive to fresh flowers in their room, as well as a well-stocked hospitality tray, complimentary toiletries and a TV. There are six breakfast options including "American" and "Mediterranean", and there is even the speciality whisky porridge to try. Each is prepared using locally sourced produce and served in the dining room with its traditional feature fireplace. York Railway Station and the National Railway Museum are a 20-minute walk away. A 10-minute stroll away guests will find the medieval walls, Rowntrees Park and York Castle Museum.
